Well, I guess the main problem is The Spirit is not Sin City, it's not whoreswhoreswhoresBLOODviolence. Denny's suave and subtly humourous, and it's all pretty low-key. It's just... not got the same feel, you know? I guess, though, the rabid fans will always have problems with adaptations. :)
