I guess I'm going mostly on Miller's previous form, since very little has been released about the film as of yet, and its similarities to Sin City is just a little worrying to me (although, you know, I see why he made that choice, it's certainly a visual style that people associate with him). As far as the ladies are concerned, he tends to have lots of little romances which change every couple of issues, since continuity doesn't really seem to be a thing that the writers were and are worried about. He mostly has tragic romances that cannot be, as any good hero should. Also, the comic (when it was good, at least) was very much an ensemble piece with him and the police commissioner and his friend and getaway driver Ebony. The trailer's definitely not giving the impression that they're sticking to that, but who knows at this point.
I am probably judging it way too harshly. I just love the comic an obnoxious amount.
