fangirljen: (Doctor Who in Blackpool)

Here Comes the Wrecking Crew!

Firstly, my mom has come home from the hospital! Yay! :D  She's still feeling icky, but she is feeling better, and sounds better.  I wish I sounded better, too, but my wheeze is getting worse, I think.  Still going to work, though.  I now have more meds I can take.

I spent the evening hunting down Doctor Who icons.  I must have saved at least two hundred to my hard drive.  Something insane like that.  And then I shuffled a bunch out and many of my new ones in.  In the next few days, I'm going to be re-working my layout too.  I'm switching from "The Christmas Invasion" moodset to a David Tennant moodset I pulled from a friend (I need to check again which friend so I can give credit!)  I'm going to rework the banner and the colours to go with it.  I already have an idea for the background and the banner.  I have no idea about the colors yet.

While I'm playing with images, I'll be working on the icons and images that I owe people from Christmas. *makes a face*  I can't believe it's already February!  Goodness gracious!  I haven't forgotten about you!  I just need to find the time online.  *sighs*  Sorry about that.  Will be getting to you all shortly. *snugs*

Besides icons, I just splurged on the second Tennant-related piece of merchandise in two days: I bought Blackpool.  I didn't just buy any copy of Blackpool, I bought a copy that was sent to the Television Academy for the Emmys!  For some reason, there are five copies of this on E-Bay right now.  O.O  But each of the sellers has over 97, or more, success.  The guy I purchased from has sold over 26,000 items and has a 99.7 success rate.  I just got an e-mail from him.  It seems he's in California, somewhere near me as his zip code is close to mine, and he'll be shipping it out today!  So I'm hoping *fingers crossed* I can get it by Monday.  Imagine that!  I know what I'll be doing come Monday afternoon!  And that may be the day that my Sonic Screwdriver comes!  I've purchased sooo much from Who North America.  They're love for us folks on this side of the Atlantic.  They ship so quickly, too!

The down part of my day came when I was at the post office.  I tried to get an air mail stamp for my SASE that I'm sending to David Tennant, but they flatly told me that it wouldn't work. :.(  So I have to come up with a new way to get the SASE to work.  My dad suggested that I purchase stamps from the UK and have them mailed to me.  I don't know yet. :( I'm going to compare notes with people on David-Tennant.com to see what they've done.  Anybody out there who is from the US and has done the SASE sent from the UK thing, your assistance would be greatly appreciated, too! :D

Work in seven hours.  I need sleepies.

I'm glad she's doing better, I hope you get better too. :)

Oh, I want Blackpool! I love that...tv thing so much. ^_^

Thanks! Here's hoping! Taking meds in just a sec. :D

Blackpool is so much love. I adore the clips I've seen so far! Heh. Me too. I love the Internets more because it gives me the UK love that I can't get on my TV otherwise. Like, David on Who Do You Think You Are? and The Ultimate West Wing Challenge! Or Ready, Steady, Cook! Or Blue Peter! Or being interviewed by John Barrowman. The list just goes on!

Now was there only 6 episodes and one series made of blackpool or was there a second series...?

Postage

Have you looked into International Reply Coupons? I used to have to purchase those from the post office when I was a member of the Paul McCartney fan club back in the seventies. Apparently, they are kind of like buying universal postage stamps, only you give them to the person you are corresponding with, and they use them to purchase the appropriate postage. I don't know if the post office still uses them anymore, but it's worth a shot...

I'm coming in to work sick this morning, so you should have company. Some kind of head cold hit me last Wednesday, and now I'm trying to keep from getting worse. Mostly my sinuses at the moment, but I worry about developing a cough. One of my students had a horrible cough in class.

Yep, and those aren't accepted for whatever reason now. They discontinued them about five to six months ago, the jerks. And of course, being the postal service, they present no alternative.

Yay! Ick. That's not fun. That's the same thing I had before it changed into bronchitis.

I wish I sounded better, too, but my wheeze is getting worse, I think.

I hope you feel better. Maybe Carlisle will help?

I bought Blackpool. I didn't just buy any copy of Blackpool, I bought a copy that was sent to the Television Academy for the Emmys!

Yay! There's really nothing like owning your very own copy of DI Carlisle Blackpool.

Thank you! :D I took my med and am already feeling better. *L* Go that. It's a new med and I'm hoping it doesn't mess with me. I have work in less than an hour. *L* For five hours, though. Not long at all.

Hehehe. I somehow get the feeling that it's better than owning my own copy of Casanova. I love the man, don't get me wrong, but Carlisle seems more my type. *L* Giac is utterly adorable, though. Looks very nice in silks.

Carlisle seems more my type.

Casanova's adorable but I prefer Carlisle as well. Any man that can make scruffy adorable, sexy and smart without batting an eye is on my list.

Yay! Blackpool! Don't you <3 eBay? :)

There's stuff on [livejournal.com profile] tennant_love about how people have written to him. You might try there if you haven't gotten an answer.

OMG. I need to switch my moodtheme out, but it's gonna take a whole night to do. :)

I'll check on that. I remember that post, but I don't remember anything about sending something from outside of Britian.

That's not long at all. I used to take a heck of a lot longer because I would do the changing by hand. *winces* Now I just fiddle with the programming and voila!
