fangirljen: (OMG SQUEE!)
Hey all! The Heroes All Access team (that is [livejournal.com profile] willowpolson, [livejournal.com profile] eriksavatar, and yours truly) will be going around Comic-Con bringing to Heroes All Access members coverage of all things Heroes related at Comic-Con 09! We will be at the Heroes panel on Saturday, July 25th, at 3:15PM, in the Hilton Bayfront's Indigo Ballroom.

Then we are heading back over to the Convention Center for Top Cow's panel at 4:30PM, in 7AB, with Milo Ventimiglia. And finally, on Saturday, going over to the Archaia panel at 5:30PM, in 5AB, with Zachary Quinto.

We will be tweeting our way through the Con! You can also expect to find blogs, interviews, and updates exclusively available to Heroes All Access members--so join up to see those!

We have some big plans for Heroes fans at Comic-Con, and not just for All Access members, either! We are still figuring out the logistics of this, but we are going to reward the Heroes fans who come out to the panel! 500 lucky people--Heroes All Access members or not--will be receiving a special goodie bag that has been made by Heroes All Access! There may be something surprising in some of those bags, so check carefully. We also will be bringing out members of talent to meet with fans during the line party prior to the panel. You never know who is gonna turn up! And for the Heroes All Access members who come out, we have a special SDCC exclusive just for you! Be sure to have your Heroes All Access card with you to show that you are a member. There may be some surprises at the event, too!

If you sign up with Heroes All Access before July 31st you will be receiving the Heroes All Access SDCC exclusive, too! You can even sign up for Heroes All Access at the San Diego Comic-Con and receive much of the membership kit during the Con!

We need your input on this: when are you planning to queue for the Heroes panel? We want to be where the bulk of the fans are! Give us your feedback and we'll see what we can do!

Thank you all and see you at Comic-Con! :D

Please distribute the link to this entry among your fellow Heroes' fans who are attending Comic-Con! We need to hear from all the fans we can about what time they plan to be getting to the line.

Thank you!

Over at Buckshotwon, Adrian made a new post in response to his fans' reactions to last night's episode:

Hi all! I promise a full report is coming. This is the song that I filmed on [livejournal.com profile] leadaisy's camera. Thank you, thank you, thank you again for letting me use your camera and play with your video! :D

I've been kind of waiting for this since I heard he sang at the Grove, I think it was. So, yeah. I just had to be the girl who got it.

Enjoy! :D

If you haven't heard yet, the cast and crew of Heroes has gotten together to produce Heroes For Autism, an April 19th event in LA melding music with photography, with a Heroes leaning, to support Autism Speaks.

This is the sort of thing that fans everywhere can get on board with. Maybe you cannot be there, maybe you cannot give a donation, but there's still a lot that you can do to help out.

One thing in particular that will really help spread the word online is the use of art and video. So I'm looking for vidders and fan artists. Whatever kind of artistic creation you want to make is wonderful.

I've checked with HFA and they say you are welcome to even incorporate any of the artists works into your work as long as it is kept online and as long as the art is used to advertise the event. They would really love if you can incorporate the event logo into the piece, though! There is also the Autism Speaks logo, too.

I would really, really love to see some fan videos come out, but please do what you're good at. When you've made the art, please post it here, and feel free to spread the word about it on your Twitter, blog, YT account, MySpace, Facebook, anywhere that you interact with people.

Let's try to get all of the Heroes fans involved in this as we possibly can! :D

Still working on getting the word out about this event. Today I've been e-mailing people and then gave the event a hub on Facebook and Myspace. I'm feeling a bit sick, but yays, I've been successful today! :D

Or something. :D I'm both proud and excited about actually pulling an article from the interview I conducted with Greg Cohen, Heroes for Autism coordinator. I've always been the editor girl. I edited a good dozen articles like this one before for my friend Marla and I've done at least twice as many transcriptions. But being the writer? Not the copy girl? It's a whole new thing! And it's for Heroes and that has me even more excited.

Heroes for Autism will be a terrific event. And even if you can't go, there is still a way to help the event reach its goal: they are taking donations. And not just donations from the US, but all over the world. I really don't like how there are things that limit support to the US. Like, the new Heroes All Access Fanclub thing. I understand there is red tape, but still. Given the nature of the fandom, what is offered in the US should be offered in other country's too.

Please, if there is any way you can help monetarily, it would mean a lot to many people. Even one dollar. Anything you can give. And if you can make the event, woohoo! :D Then I will see you there!

And here's the spiffy link to the article:

The new HRG Files is out. I still haven't finished reading it. I got through his explanation as to why he doesn't want to Twitter, and then I stopped on this passage:

In other words, the reason I'm not on Twitter comes down to this: I could never compete with Grunny's 25,000 followers.

Well.

If that's the only reason, then heck, he can get that no sweat.

And if he doesn't wanna start a Twitter, then I'm the crazy fangirl who will start one for him. And when there are over 25,000 fans on it, I'll get him the info and give him the account. *Laughs*

Please add this and tell your HRG lovin' friends to add, too. We have a lot of work ahead of us.

From Figures.com's report at the 2009 New York Toy Fair:

A noticeable absence from the Mezco Toy Fair display was HEROES, based on the hit NBC series.

When pressed about it, we were informed that HEROES is indeed done, with no current plans to release Series 3 or Series 4.

While the line may not have proven popular, it seems we will never see the rest of the main cast in action figure form.

So all plans of Series 3 and Series 4 have been dashed, not to mention the 3.75 inch figures and the 9 inch figures, but for obvious reasons I am mostly unhappy with the cancellation of Series 3. One would think that with all the showcasing of that series, we'd at least actually get it? Bloody. I want my Nathan figure already! :(

But I think it's better not to get angry about this as it is better to do something about it.

E-mail the General Inquiries e-mail.

And if you have already pre-ordered one of the Series 3 figures, you can e-mail Customer Care

You can still Pre-order on ToyWiz

I couldn't find them on Forbidden Planet, but that doesn't mean they're not there I don't think.

We gotta keep our figures!

Happy February 1st! Today is Superbowl Sunday, or, how I like to think about it Heroes and Star Trek commercial day! Cause that is all that matters to me. Mostly the Heroes commercial. Only found out that there was a Star Trek trailer the other day, from [livejournal.com profile] brokenbacktango, of course. Won't be home to watch either, but expecting my dad to be watching the Superbowl. And if he is, he is gonna DVR! Woohoo!

Mmm. Heroes football. Nice thought to think about all day. :D

I also wanted to say--but now that I see that this wasn't really fitting the air of my last post--something about a comm that I joined! [livejournal.com profile] snheroes_lims! Supernatural Heroes Last Icon Maker Standing! Their first round ends on the 3rd at midnight GM time. That's four in the afternoon for me. They're pretty keen! I've never joined a LIMS comm before, but I saw this one and just went for it. I haven't made many Heroes icons, but I wanna get back to my creativity with art.

I know there are some iconmakers on my flist who haven't joined up. Perhaps consider it? :D

Not sure who I yoinked this from, but it is one of those things that go around. I wasn't planning on posting it, but then I saw number two. I loled and decided I had to post this. That came up all by itself. *L* Nothing against Expandseason 3 spoiler--up to ep 11 ), but heh. This is funny. :P

A few weeks ago, [livejournal.com profile] brokenbacktango introduced me to Cobra Starship's remix of Katy Perry's song "I Kissed a Girl." It is now "I Kissed a Boy." The song is sexy and raw by itself, but it is SOOO much better when listened to with the pretty eye candy of Sylar and Mohinder and all of the "honeys" who just cannot have Sylar. In all honesty, I don't know any Heroes vid that is hotter. I wish I had a link to said vid because that would help, wouldn't it? *L* I'm going to get it from [livejournal.com profile] brokenbacktango, so watch for it if you are interested in such a thing.

ETA: Well crap. I found the vid, but the maker, kuwdora, is no longer on LJ. So no vid. :( So if you already have it, and can pass it--or if you're [livejournal.com profile] brokenbacktango--I'd appreciate that. :D

I'm happy for everyone who supported Obama and that he won. You know, it's weird, though: I know this is a historical event, but I'm of the mind of "Okay, so his skin is black. Glad it finally happened because it really should have by now." Makes no difference to me the color of your skin, or your gender, but if you have good ideas, that's what counts. So, I'm partially like "Yeah, let's get started already!"

The only real sour note is my disappointment in California, Arizona, Arkansas, and Florida, the states that either want to outlaw gay marriage, or, in Arkansas's case, outlaw gay couples' right to adopt children. So, on one hand, we've show how far we've progressed, and then the other, we haven't progressed enough. The props that were on the ballot in these states enrage me.

Okay, but politics aside, I just had my evening lightened up by watching a few Petrelli scenes from "Villains" with thanks to Pandora Rose's thread. Wonderful! :D You really get to see the dynamic of the family in a couple of the clips. I'm also glad and pleased that writers are getting back to [livejournal.com profile] eriksavatar. Her news made me very gleeful, too.

Note: Comments contain spoilers for scenes from "Villains."
fangirljen: (Fangirl on CRACK!)
OMG! *bounce* I haven't been this excited about a literary connection since [livejournal.com profile] eriksavatar realized that St. Joseph's Hospital, the hospital where Nathan is recovering, is not to reference Joseph, as in Jesus's father, but Joseph as in Joseph of Culpertino, the Patron Saint of air travellers, astronauts, people with mental handicaps, and test takers. Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] willowpolson for bringing him to our attention. He's a really interesting Saint so you you need to check him out.

But this one, this connection, is all mine. :D

The Petrellis and their schemes and controlling tendencies, they are the Greek Gods Zeus and Hera. I'm definitely not up on my Greek myth, but I came to this conclusion when I found that Daphne is Hermes. She is the messenger. And one of Hermes' symbols? The tortoise. I'm also intrigued by how the Caduceus, the warring snakes, resembles the Pinehearst double helix.

I wish I had more to say this, but I'm really curious to hear what other people say. So, speak out! :D
