The real, honest to goodness reason SG-1 was cancelled: with Cheyenne Mountain Complex having to be closed, SG-1 had to be scrapped. There are no such thing as coincidences.

Okay, so I took Whisper's suggestion and came up with a letter. This is almost an exact copy of the letter I wrote to a local writer. He has an opinion collumn in my paper, The Daily Bulletin, and he has mentioned Stargate before. He's not a fan of the series, but he is a Science Fiction fan. So I'm trying to appeal to that aspect of him.
If you want to send out a letter to the editor or a writer at your local newspaper, that would be awesome! Try to appeal to the person who would be the most open to what you're doing.
As always, be polite and be appreciative of the newspaper's writer's time.
