“It is not given to us to know whether we shall succeed
or not. In failure there is no disgrace. There can be but
one ultimate shame — the cowardice of not having tried.”

December 15th, 2007 was a fantabulous day. Not because it was Michael Shanks' 37th birthday (and, aside from reading posts about that this morning, I plum forgot), but for Heroes. And not just everything Heroes, but what I achieved tonight. If not for my initiative and desire to share my love and appreciation, I would not have felt love and appreciation back from a man I've grown to admire over the course of this year. I had hopes of giving a hug to Adrian Pasdar, but at the Jules Verne Festival, I ended up getting a hug from Adrian Pasdar and acknowledgment. At home, I began crying about this. I can still feel the tears wanting to come back, even now a few hours after they first came out. All of those times at work I felt like I was just giving and giving and giving and going dry because it seemed like my extra work didn't matter. And then in Heroes fandom, where I'm being me, doing what I can, and I'm told such kind and thoughtful words from someone who has touched me, but is a stranger--granted one who I highly respect--this is big to me. I don't think he knows the gift he's given me tonight. :-D
(I'll be making a post about the actual event later today. Just need some time to gather my thoughts outside of the "I GOT PASDAR HUG!!" Check out
brokenbacktango's post with a run down of the teaser trailer for Vol. 3. Spoilers ahead!)

Date: 2007-12-16 02:18 pm (UTC)p.s. I saw pictures from the Strike Day here and, correct me if I'm wrong, I think you're on a bunch of them - including a fantastic posed picture with Cristine Rose. Way to go! :D

Date: 2007-12-16 06:33 pm (UTC)That pic with Cristine Rose was hard to get. She was about to leave and I was like "Picture? Please?" And she was all, "Okay! But fast!" I mean, we're right by the crosswalk. *L* And it was fast. *sighs* What an awesome lady she is! So is the writer who took the photo! Mark Warshaw. I had a good conversation with him.

Date: 2007-12-16 04:18 pm (UTC)Adrian Pasdar really is the nicest person ever! I'm sure I was just a giddy mess around him, but he was so sweet and stayed around the longest to take pictures with the fans and sign things. I'm so glad you got to give him a hug!

Date: 2007-12-17 01:15 am (UTC)He is. You're very right. I like that he takes well to the giddy. I'm thinking it's because he has a bit of the giddy in him, too. If the bone marrow meltdown is any indication. That made me like him so much more, too, because I've done that, in a restaurant, too, no less.
I was going to, but he gave me a hug first. *snugs you, too!*

Date: 2007-12-16 05:00 pm (UTC)That's so amazing though, I'm so excited for you! Adrian seems like a sweet guy, and it's good to hear that he appreciates what you're doing for him :)
I look forward to a more detailed post!!

Date: 2007-12-17 01:33 am (UTC)I try to share the love! I don't like people being jealous. I'm all for sharing the good. :D
He's terribly sweet. I'm still going to be speechless about that. Caught dumb by the awesomeness is what I'm calling it!
I'm going to try. May take a few more days.
*more snugs*
